I loved this unit! Not sure what people mean by boring lectures but I thought they were fantastic! Especially the first ones by Leah and Sam! Also Raph and Erik the unit coordinators are such lovely people!! The best!! The assignments were fair and pretty easy to get HDs in if you followed the task sheet and instructions and turned up to class. I found the tests a bit harder as they went by quite quick but still not too hard. The exam was basically full of the review questions so I’d recommend doing them!! Also it went by quite quick so don’t spend too much time thinking over questions! Overall a great unit I’m not sure why the rating is so low!

The lectures can get quite boring at times and I suffered from lecture fatigue a lot. The assignments are ok, just give yourself plenty of time to let them cook because they are looking for good data interpretation which can sometimes take a while. The R stuff is really hands-off which is nice. The field trip is the star of this unit so make sure you go!

The concepts are quite interesting, they just aren't well presented. Lectures get boring, you are better off just reading the lecture notes. The assignments (reports) are quite monotonous which arent interesting. Then again the field trip was cancelled so maybe it will be more interesting in the future?

For someone who detests ecology, this unit was actually pretty fun. Really wish we could have gone on the field trip but the unit coordinators transitioned really well to online teaching.
