Reviews

The lecturer, Kirk Essary, is great. Unit is content heavy. It is broad in the topics it covers and doesn't go too deep into each one. Although it is deep enough at a level I find enjoyable. Kirk gives detailed seminars and surprisingly technical answers for any questions you ask. The unit has workshops, which acts as part seminar part Q/A. They are not only enjoyable but invaluable because the lecturer will give information that are either not from or expands on the weekly readings. Marks are assigned on: weekly responses and participation, two in-class source analyses and one semester-long major essay. Overall a great history unit and I recommend the unit just on listening to Kirk during his workshops.
