Reviews

This unit was quite good, much better than IMED3002 with the high amounts of content. This unit is run from weeks 1 to 6, and although it was challenging, it was not hard. The tests and exams were not bad at all, and felt very fair. There were some really long lectures which dragged on and on and on, but apart from those lectures, it was bearable. This unit was about cardiovascular and respiratory systems, both of which are not easy to learn. The written assignment was a research assignment where we had to solve a clinical case, and was not too bad. There were a few anatomy labs, which are highly recommended to attend. There were also a few pathology consolidation workshops which I had no clue what was going on. The self directed workshops weren't bad either, and some were optional, whilst others definitely were not. Demelza was brilliant in coordinating this unit, and she made everything run smoothly. As long as you are on the ball with lectures and assessments, it's a breeze.

I really enjoyed this unit and found it great and valuable for future entrance into the Medical field. The clinical case assignment was a bit tedious to complete but relatively easy and marked very easily. This unit is completed in Weeks 1-6 while IMED3002 is completed in the later half of semester so they don’t overlap. 5-6 lectures a week which sometimes go for 1 and a 1/2-2 hours which was a bit annoying, but there were only a few of these. There were self-directed workshops online most weeks but these were easy and most of the time optional, only sometimes assessable but mainly for consolidating info in lectures. Tests were all multichoice during the semester and of varying difficulty. Final exam was multi choice and some short answer and found it relatively easy. Need to keep on top of lectures to do well so I would suggest a weekly planner of dedicating watching lectures to certain days as you DO NOT want to fall behind in lectures- otherwise you will not do well. Great unit coordinators who actually care about you and communication online via LMS was great. Loved this unit and its content, probably the most beneficial and interesting IMED unit yet.

Although the content was very heavy, and it was a huge jump for 2nd year medical sciences units, it was definitely painfully interesting, where clinical relevance starts to integrate together. Where everything you've learnt in year 1/2 finally is being applied into real clinical cases. Interesting and enjoyed it!

The content was quite interesting, but make sure you stay on top of lectures or else you'll fall behind.

Super interesting and not too bad at the beginning. Make sure to keep up with the material or you will struggle to get back on top of it. Assignment is time consuming but not hard to HD. Study well before the exam period.

Not too difficult. Make sure you keep up with all the lectures/labs and do some additional anatomy study. Assignment is easy to score good marks in.
