Personally, I really loved MATH1013, but I can easily see why someone would hate it. This is a unit that many will find challenging, as it is legitimately a real analysis unit. Do not take this unless you are ready for a challenging mathematics unit. But if you are a pure maths major, this is a must-take for first year. There is a very severe difficulty spike right at the start with the epsilon-delta definition of limits. If you can cross over that spike, then you will probably be fine. The unit coordinator, Serena Dipierro, is an incredibly intelligent teacher who covers the content very well. However, she will leave students in the dust if they do not set aside sufficient time to study the material themselves. The textbook for this unit is "Calculus" by Michael Spivak, and students who are considering this unit should read through part of this book to see whether they are ready for the material.
