Reviews

I think this unit is relatively easy provided effort is put in. I barely looked at the textbook and found that didn't even matter. The essay was easy and well-structured, as were the lectures. Not too much cognitive load in terms of the lectures; very easy to keep up with and weren't time-consuming at all. The group project will screw you if you don't have a good group so good luck with that part. Other than that, great unit!

The OB unit is relatively easy, with consistent effort needed for a Distinction (D) and more for a High Distinction (HD). Lectures can be boring and sleepy, but tutorials are engaging due to their interactive activities. The essay assignment is straightforward, involving real-case scenarios related to unit topics like inequity, leadership, and justice; it requires research and resources, which is time-consuming but manageable. The presentation is similar and relies on having good teammates. The final exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions that are common sense but require knowledge of the CORRECT terms to avoid mistakes. The knowledge gained is VERY practical and applicable BEYOND ACADEMIC SETTINGS! => very gud elective

Unit is really easy. Definitely need to put effort if you're looking for a D or HD. The presentation and essay are the two assignments that are marked quite fairly depending on your tutor. The lectures are super boring and Ruolian's accent is really thick, but the lecture slides usually have notes which are like subtitles essentially. The exam is definitely logic-based and obvious but you would need to know the concepts or the correct terms to answer properly so reading textbooks or watching lectures is a must. As long as you remember the fancy lingo, the MCQ exam shouldnt be too hard.

Related to psych so doing psych would help but still pretty boring. Includes a group project but luckily I got put w really good people. Idk if this was the same for others but my tutor wouldn't give attendance marks if you were more than 5min late to the tutorial. Exam is MCQ so that's good.

This unit is not boring as it seems because tutorial activities are interesting. However, the final exam is quite conceptual and I could not remember so many abstract concepts, which is definitely much more difficult than solving math problems. The tutorial activities cannot help the final exam. Also the lectures are useless. I cannot understand how we are gonna learn organizational behavior from a unit rather than in the workplace.

I don't see what's the hype with this unit. Getting a HD is not too hard, but effort is needed. If you get a strict tutor, they will mark your essay and presentation very harshly. The lecturer is so boring, I couldn't stand watching his lectures from the start till the end because his accent is very thick so I couldn't understand anything. I agree with one of the reviews below, it seems like the teaching team does not want to be there, not at all enthusiastic. The exam wasn't too bad but it was all MCQ and knowledge-based with a few logical questions. I managed to score a D in the exam by relying on my logic and a few hours of reading a summary I found on google.

Possibly one of the easiest unit I have ever done, had to do it in 3rd year because I needed a broadening. Typical textbook-memorised unit and guaranteed an easy HD. In fact, most of the questions that were in the exam was pretty common sense and logical.

Wasted lots of money for this unit, but I had no choice since it is a complementary unit. People say it's easy but it is definitely not. The exam is all MCQ but nowhere near easy. There is an essay that is marked very harshly. The lecturer's accent is not understandable and very flat and boring so I ended up not watching his lectures. I don't think the lecturer, tutors and staff wanted to be there as they were not at all enthusiastic about the unit, and so did I. Do not take this unit if you don't have to. It is not a HDable unit. It is not a fun unit. There is nothing good that came out from taking this unit. It is similar to psychology but personally MKTG1204 (consumer behavior), which is highly similar to this unit was way better, with a much better lecturer, assessments and content. Take that one instead!

All the lectures were only online this unit. The lecturer had a thick accent and was really difficult to listen to. Although the content itself wasn't difficult, mainly common sense psychology, the assessment, particularly the oral presentation in pairs was fairly harshly marked. The exam was so disproportionately easy though (50MCQ's that's it) that I feel it may have been scaled. As attendance to tutes is worth 10% get on the good side of the tutor. Fairly easy unit to get a D.

Loved this unit! The lecturer was fantastic and frequently used videos and short clips from movies/TV shows to explain theories and concepts. Be prepared to learn many little theories!
