If you get a grasp on what musical expressivity is the entire unit is decent, essay is a drag and the video presentation is weird cuz the assessor asks you to show your face for some reason, I’d do again but not my favourite elective of all time

The practical stuff is the same as MUSC1981, so that's like the best part. There's not really any lectures for this unit, it's purely just a few informational videos on what to do, some useful papers, and 10 weeks of basically doing a research project on musical analysis. It was definitely not a terrible unit, but the difficulty compared to MUSC1981's written assessment is way higher. It's not hard, but just confusing for a long while. You really need to have some basic understanding of music if you don't wanna be lost.

Basically the same as MUSC1981 but you do an analysis project. The requirements and structure to make the analysis was a little confusing. Chicago referencing sucks
