Reviews

just awful

I am writing this in support of the other reviewer. I agree, the workload is fair and the assessments help us further understand what we learn in NEUR3301. However, the mouse experiment is unnecessary and not pleasant (especially for the mice). The unit coordinators need to address this.

Good workload, no lectures so only labs and tutorials and the unit goes hand in hand with Neur3301. The only bad thing is the synapses lab where they kill mice in front of you and describe each step as they’re doing it, then make you dissect them alive but anaesthetised (so they don’t really kill them initially). Was a horrible lab to sit through and be involved in only for the cells to not work for all groups so old data was used anyway. Very emotionally difficult with very little warnings especially if you like animals. Tutors are good though just dampened the whole unit with that lab.
