Extremely interesting unit super fun for physics lovers. However, resonance is so poorly taught it’s not even funny. First test had a failing average and students were mocked by both Ralph and Gareth. Once again Darren saves the unit as well as David. These two care about students and their learning. Labs are easy. Tests are challenging. Exam was bearable

The topics are for the most part very interesting and enjoyable. This unit would be a 5/5 if it weren't for two things. First, the resonance topic. It isn't taught very well, with the lecturer just reading off slides and going through maths. This problem is exacerbated as the past tests they gave us were not indicative of the difficulty and style of the actual test questions. This goes for all tests and the exam- they even admit that some of the practice questions don't reflect what we will be asked due to the rewriting of the course. The result is, despite the physics being fun, this is a stressful unit. On the other hand, I much preferred the labs in this unit compared to PHYS1001, with the exception of the electronics labs, which everyone, including the lab tutors, struggled with. Overall though, this unit is fine.

Absolute joy, wonderful lecturers and super fun topics as long as you follow and study properly.
