I would recommend taking STAT1400 first, it would make this unit a lot easier, the unit coordinator assumes that everyone's already taken it and doesn't teach you how to use R, the actual tests are a lot harder than the practice.

Darfiana Nur does not know how to teach, and she speaks absolutely broken English, the lecture slides is unstructured as f. 2 hrs waste of time weekly and 2hrs of useless prac which is not going to help understanding R. Pretty much you just have to learn R language yourself. It is horrendous. Wish I could have Prof. John but 2 unfortunate. F !!!!!!

Unit is really interesting and informative. John is an EXCELLENT unit coordinator and was highly responsive in both email communication and our WhatsApp unit group chat. He would respond at the early hours of the morning (1-2am) and would reply to emails very quickly. His lectures were difficult to understand at times as he presents quite quickly and tends to flick back and forth between slides (sometimes jumping up to 20 slides to make a point) however the lecture slides themselves were easy to understand and follow, so you didn’t really need to watch the lectures, just making notes off the slides was enough to have a sufficient grasp on the content. The tests had a very high average and were quite easy to get 80+ in if you did the practice tests and ran over the content. The assignments were also a piece of cake. I did not study for the exam, went in with near full marks and finished with an 82 in the unit. The exam was quite fair if you studied, it was online. Overall a great unit, super interesting introduction to linear modelling and R

Learnt a lot from this unit. The lecture notes were top notch and I still refer to them, when in doubt. True, I had some difficulty understanding the lectures - but you just have to get started on the exercise questions for each topic. Once you start, all the information is contained within the notes, which flow very well. Lecturer was very helpful, approachable and prompt in answering questions.

First time feeling like I'm actually enrolled in a education institution .Professor John and all tutor are super helpful , can't thank them enough for how much effort they put in to help all student. Other professor normally takes 2 to 5 days to reply email , by the time they reply your email . we might have already stress out and moved on to another question. ( makes me feels like I have just enrolled an online course from bootcamp/udemy). professor John literally send help in under 5-10minutes , no matter it is midday or midnight Although I have difficulty in understanding his lecture sometimes but I still have the best experience overall compare to all other unit I've taken .
