Mix of financial and management accounting. A pretty easy course. Provide good knowledge to the accounting world.

This unit is face paced if you haven't been exposed to basic business financial tools such as balance sheets, income statements etc. The unit is useful and relevant to business. Don't miss a single class though because the tests and everything really add up! Also if you miss out on one thing, then the other stuff won't make sense. Individual assignment is hard and not what you would expect so start early and get as much help with it as possible. Overall a useful and well structured unit.

This is an excellent unit, it just seems a little fast paced for people that may be unfamiliar with accounting concepts. Constant revision is key to success in this unit and ensuring you don't miss any weekly quizzes.

The pace of this unit was a little quick. Many of the topics were just brushed upon, so it really does help when you have been exposed to things like an income statement, balance sheet and statement of changes in equity. I'd also recommend that you complete your individual written assignment immediately, because there are usually exams scheduled in the week the assignment is due. Overall a good intro to the basics of accounting.

Make sure you get Anna De Havilland as your tutor. She is a practicing accountant and definitely knows her stuff. She show shortcuts you can make and helps you understand difficult concepts with ease. Great subject for an introduction to accounting. Exams are usually tough but not too hard.
