Horrible unit. Absolutely no lecturer or tutor engagement. Self taught unit with pre recorded lecturers and online tutorials that last 5 minutes, there was no effort by the teaching staff in this unit to actually teach it seemed. Payed to be taught by a computer screen. Real shame.

This unit stands out with some interesting topics. However, it is entirely online and the lectures have been pre-recorded since COVID. Our discussion forum is dead as well. Tutors and lecturers do not answer anything in there which is a first for me. Quite literally, there is not a single reply to a student's question; students are answering each other. The whole unit is a pre-recorded online course with not too much support for students. Personally, not my favourite way to learn or engage with content. The content is intriguing, which I'm sure many students would appreciate deeply, but the design of the entire unit makes it an absolute bore and unbearable.

Worst unit ever. Most disorganised lecturer and the exam was extremely hard

I found this unit incredibly informative and super interesting. You learn about a wide variety of aspects impacting eating and drinking. Studying the extremes, such as dehydration, starvation, eating disorders and obesity, is particularly interesting. I would caution students that this unit is, however, very anatomy dense and science heavy. If you are interested in eating disorders, note that you only spend 1 week looking at them, and only cover anorexia and bulimia in some detail. In comparison, 3.5 weeks are dedicated to obesity. The unit convenor and lecturer is very friendly, approachable, and understanding. I highly recommend this unit, despite it probably being the most content heavy unit I've done in 3 years.
