HD BMS 1062 notes
Subject notes for Monash BMS1062
Description
These notes contain: ☆ Combined summary of basically EVERYTHING you need to know for prokaryotic and eukaryotic DNA replication, transcription and translation (written in a TABLE format which allows easy comparison and visualisation) ☆ Different types of genetic mutations: cause and repair mechanisms (tautomers, depurination, deamination, UV damage, methylated guanine, double-stranded breaks ☆ Most genetic diseases covered in all the lectures: description and cause Why I wrote these notes: ☼ At the end of the year before exams, I realised how confusing prokaryotic and eukaryotic DNA replication, transcription and translation are. There are SO many mechanisms and SO many different names to remember. I thought it would be useful to put down everything in a table and it definitely worked! These notes helped me survive the gruelling 1062 exam and helped me achieve an overall HD (86). These notes DO NOT include the following topics: ☆ DNA structure and biochemical properties (this is pretty straight forward) ☆ Lab techniques and most lab stuff ☆ DNA recombination (immunology) ☼ Note: These notes only serve to complement your personal study and should not be used as your only resource!
