Lots of fluff in lectures that are completely irrelevant to the exam. The group work was a nightmare for me. I was doing MOST of the tasks and when I notified the unit coordinator, she marked our group down an additional 11% from our overall grade for "bad" teamwork!!! Unbelievable. Sometimes you just can't control a situation no matter what you do and it was sad to lose marks from this, even though I tried my best to encourage everyone to take part... :( Luckily the exam was 50%, so I still managed to make up for the poor group mark.

This statistics course was rather difficult for those who are uninitiated in the field of Statistics. Team oriented work that is based around interpreting program outputs and minor calculations. Lecturer was unintelligible and only read off the slides without introducing terminology or basic concepts. The specific terminology makes answering questions very difficult.

This class like any other stats class was quite difficult. It's very team oriented which may or may not be a good thing. The lectures were arduous but in the end they were very interesting (to me at least). It's also based around the stats programme, R commander, which at first is difficult to grasp but later on its gets easier. For this subject, it would a good idea to borrow some books on R commander as it would both teach you the content of the classes (i.e. how to differentiate from statistical tests) and how to use the programme proficiently. Again, it's really important to go to all classes as some things that are said in class aren't in the lecture notes or lecture capture ( the lecturer is quite forgetful). Also the tutors are good and bad, they explain things well to people who already have a good grasp of the subject but may confuse other. Honestly, I think a study group is essential for this subject.
