If you keep up with the content then it's ok, but you need to be strong in maths and theoretical thinking. It also helps if you have experience coding, because all the assignments heavily rely on your ability to code in RStudios. I would not recommend doing this subject in semester two, purely because of the teacher. Lecturer Kevin Staub is possibly the most unengaging and unhelpful professor I have ever met. There were only two practise exams provided and these were from ANOTHER SUBJECT and didn't come with solutions - largely pointless. The ED discussion board was shut off at the end of week 12 because Melbourne Uni won't pay it's tutors the extra time to monitor it. Honestly, my experience in this subject was largely disappointment and boredom - I would only do it if you need it to get into honours or really like statistics.

Very interesting stats subject. Would recommend to anyone interested in stats/econometrics/further study in an stats heavy field (e.g finance, economics). For the most part a logical progression from metrics 1. However a lot more proofs heavy and mathematical. Lots of proofs and matrices giving students who did AM1/LA or mathematical econ a good leg up. The assignments could be a bit tough especially if you dont have a background in coding or maths however exam was very fair (but very long).

Fairly interesting if you like stats, and doable with practice and study
