Absolutely enjoyed this subject thanks to my tutor, Garrity, and the girls I managed to make my buddies all throughout the semester! Readings weren’t difficulty because you’re only provided one study and a single chapter from the prescribed textbook, so it is not at all difficult to catch up. I did this as a breadth as a Science student, so if you’re looking for easy breadths/a break from all things arithmetic and content-heavy, AND willing to do essay-based courses, this is for you.

I took this subject as a breadth (in a science degree) and I found it a really good subject for a broad introduction to sociology. I would suggest doing the readings as they usually contribute a lot to the discussions in tutorials (and there is an attendance hurdle so getting the most out of the ones you attend will defs help with the two essays and the last take-home test). It was a bit dry at the start but if you stick by it then it gets more interesting :)

A really good subject that isn’t super demanding. The content was kind of dry, but during the second half of the semester, it really started to pick up. My favourite was definitely that last assessment!

A good introduction to sociology. The unit is very broad but it allows you to concentrate on the areas that you find most enjoyable. At times the lectures felt less important than the readings as the assessments and tutorials focused almost solely on the readings.

Dan was a great coordinator/lecturer! I really enjoyed how he delivered his lectures and structured the course! A great intro to sociology... not overly complex or boring. Assessments were not too hard. All weekly Readings were expected to be completed before every week. Overall, a great sociology subject!

Great introduction to sociology. Equips you well for future sociology subjects. Great for those with absolutely no background in sociology.

A good introductory subject to sociology, the lectures are interesting but the tutorials were a bit meh for me but that depends on who you get as your tutor, most are very insightful when answering questions but in terms of conductingg tutorials , it could have been done better. The readings are dry and only needed until the final assessment.
