Reviews

This could have been a great unit, but it was let down by the unit coordinator. While it was a significant step up in difficulty from year one units, if you are an active learner and organised, the content load is very manageable. The workshops and lecturers are both interesting and highly relevant to the assessments, so keep that in mind. 2/3 Lecturers were enthusiastic and very helpful, and I thought the marking criteria for some assessments was quite generous. My main issue was that the unit coordinator was essentially semi retired and very uninvolved, never responding to emails, and often saying one thing but doing another. I felt it was very unfair that our end of semester exam used a different format than the previous exams available on one search, and we were pretty much left in the dark about what long answer questions meant until half an hour before the exam (It was a slap in the face). The unit coordinator was a very good teacher, but if in future the coordinator is changed, this could certainly be a 5 star unit.

I really enjoyed this unit, Tony and Marco and greater lecturers ... and Myora (everyone's favourite)

The best unit I've ever taken. It's challenging but all the lecturers help you if you ask them for help. Make sure you understand contents every week

This unit is run my Marco but also taught by Tony and Myora. The unit was a little unorganised to begin with but Marco seemed to pull it together by the end. 5 stars for all three lecturers. All three teach differently but teach well, always willing to help and are very nice people. Myora is an exceptional teacher. Good unit, highly, highly recommended.

Pro-tip: GO TO LECTURES! A lot of material gets explained with a stick on the powerpoint, meaning you wont see what the teacher is pointing at - which will annoy you immensly come end of semester exam time.
