The unit coordinator Mark Pegrum is a great lecturer. The unit content is interesting and the workload is very light. Highly recommend as an elective.

I did this unit because I enjoyed the last two EDUC units and did quite well at them. This unit, comparatively, sucked. A surprisingly heavy workload, but the tutorials aren't helpful. The marking rubrics for the assessments are very vague, but they are marked so harshly. I ended up with a low overall grade, especially compared to the other EDUC units. Would not recommend.

really didn't like this unit. did it as elective to boost my gpa but got the lowest mark i've had in my degree. the workload is more than it seems and there is no help on how to do the final assignment. the presentation was worth too much (70%!!!!!) and the marking was very harsh.

People always say this unit is an easy HD, but in my opinion it's not. Despite the interesting content, we received zero helpful guidelines on how to do the assignment. Guidelines provided in the assignment outline was very generic. The weekly activities are easy marks but it takes up a lot of your time, since you have to come back to the forum to reply to comments on your post. But what's ridiculous is that each weekly activity is only worth 1%.I felt that the major assignment was marked harshly as well. My tutor in particular did not respond to any of my queries, and the tutorials are pretty boring. I would advise you to do this unit if you are in your first year (I am in my third year).

The unit is really interesting and a solid broadening unit. If you put in some effort, a good mark should come fairly easily. However, you will be waiting a long time to get back marks for the major assessment. It's worth 70% of your grade and most uni assessments are given back after 2 weeks or so. Marks still haven't been released after a month which is the only down side of the unit (because the weighting is so significant).

Pretty easy unit. I would recommend it to anyone who uses ipad's/tablets and smartphones because you can relate it to your own use (which is what the assignments are about).
