Amazing lecturer and tutor. They were both very kind and helpful, and responded to every email I sent with questions or concerns. Absolutely reccomend if you have any interest in creative writing. Only improvement i would suggest is discussing assignments earlier, as I found there wasn't much information on them.

A pretty organized unit overall. Did this unit online and it was one of the best online units i've ever done. Lecturers and tutors are caring and helpful. Multiple creative writing exercises gave me a boost to start the final assignment, a creative folio of a story or a poem). However, I didn't like the fact that they can't give feedback to the actual writing piece before submission, and only gave feedback to the folio outline. Not an extremely easy HD, but HDable if you can really spend time and digest different techniques in the lectures, then use most of those in the assignments to score higher. I ended up with a D.

Decent unit. I think that this unit is better for those who did ATAR English/Literature. I enjoyed being able to do creative writing. I do think that there was a heavy focus on literary techniques and how other writers have applied those techniques in a piece that they wrote. It did feel like majority of the lectures were just "here are some literary techniques, here is how these people used them." I had a lot of trouble engaging with the content and understanding the techniques, I struggled with it in high school too.

The lecturer was really good at engaging you in the topics. I think I learnt a lot and properly understood everything she was teaching. You do have to present your work in tutorials and also give feedback on other peoples work each week. I do not like public speaking so it was a struggle for me but I still received good participation marks. Is great to improve your writing skills even if you are not really interested in the creative writing area.

The lecturer for this unit was one of the best I have had at UWA so far! All aspects of the course were explained in depth in a way that made it very interesting. Only thing is that it would have been good to go over the creative folio earlier as it snuck up on us and suddenly was due in a week. Also the online interactivity is really good but may push you out of your comfort zone, but is really great to improve your writing skills! I definitely recommend this unit.

A good unit for creative writers. Whilst some would enjoy a lack of content, it tends to make the lectures irrelevant and unnecessary. You could easily pass the unit only going to your tutorials
