This unit was a blast. The language classes were fun and interactive, and everyone was friendly which created a great learning atmosphere. The structure of the course is good, although a little fast-paced considering it's for absolute beginners. You really need to work on it outside of the language classes (though this is expected, as there are only 3 contact hours a week). The weekly quizzes aren't too hard, and plenty of preparation materials are given for the final exam. All the tutors are great!

I really didn't enjoy the way this course was set out. while the course isn't extremely challenging and even with minimal study it is very possible to get a D or even HD the course is extremely grammar focused and you will learn it once and not ever really cover it again or go back to it. They go through the content at an extremely fast pace for a unit that is meant to be for low level beginners. Personally wouldn't do this unit again

If you haven't done any French before it'll be a little challenging but it is assumed everyone is a beginner so not too hard to catch on. It is fast paced but bonnie is fantastic so she'll gladly help you if you need. If you attend all the classes and do the weekly quizzes a HD is easy - I managed to achieve a 86. The exam is not too difficult and relatively straight forward. You are allowed a dictionary in the exam so that helps heaps!

Pay attention to the classes (especially tutorials), read the textbook after each class, revise before each assessment. Follow these 3 steps, and a HD is yours!

If you've never done any French before you really have to do a lot of self-study. They go through content faster than light speed. However if you are struggling, don't surrender, because the assessments are much easier than expected and the final exam is very easy (but still make sure to allocate a decent amount of study to it). The tutors are also really supportive and fun people. Once again if you've never done French before, don't expect to get a HD if you're not prepared to do a LOT of practice.

Loooooved this unit. As long as you keep up with the work, you'll find it a breeze!

If you keep on top of the work (which is quite enjoyable) it’s an easy Distinction/High Distinction.

Easy if you've done French in highschool up to yr 10, but there is a ton of content taught in a short time, so if this is your first exposure to French, it could be very hard. The assessments are much easier than you would expect from the content, and the lecturer and tutors are very nice and helpful.

Amazing unit! Extremely well-taught and rewarding. As long as you keep up with the work, it is a very easy unit to succeed in. Also, big thanks to Tristan for being a great tutor!

I started with no French knowledge and had a great time in this unit! If you keep up with the learning and go to all the language classes, then you shouldn't find it too difficult. Would absolutely recommend for anyone that needs an A Broadening unit.
