Reviews
ok
Anonymous, Semester 2, 2023
Ok but I would die for Jeaney Yip. An excellent lecturer, clear and concise instruction and plenty of real-life examples and case studies to show theory in action. Content is foundational and every other marketing subject will build on it. Group project is easy enough to get a good mark in and mostly intuitive. Both exams are multiple-choice - revise the lecture content and it's easy to get a good mark in.

This unit builds on many marketing concepts that were covered in HSC Business Studies. It incorporates real world case studies which makes the concepts easy to grasp. One of the lecturers, Geoff Fripp, is fantastic (and occasionally gives out chocolate). Tip: get to know class members in the first two weeks so you can choose group members that you get along with for the group assignment.

If you did Business Studies at school you won't learn a single thing in this unit. That being said, it is very easy. The group project is inevitably painful but the exam is multi choice and can be finished in 25% of the time they give you.

Content is foundational as it should be, but still useful. Teaching team cares about their students. Super easy exams, just make sure you secure a good team as it is group work heavy.

Geoffrey Fripp made this subject- it's good, but his lectures made it fun
Anonymous, Semester 2, 2017
Didn't really like the class or the teacher but the information and topics were helpful

Everything was organised nicely. Lecture contents are all that you need to revise as the exam was fairly simple and straight forward.

A good insight into marketing. A decent first year subject. Both the mid-sem and final are all multiple choice. The other marks come from group work. People feel differently about these.

Jeany Yip is a veritable god-send. Brilliant lecturer, super organised and engaging.
